Description:
The Inn is a sustainably designed Georgia State Park facility nestled in the Chattahoochee National Forest, just a few hours north of Atlanta. Its four main buildings offer twenty private guest rooms, hot showers, fresh linens and home-cooked meals. The Hike Inn’s mission is to make experiencing nature easy, and help protect it through education and recreation.

Meeting Place Directions:
Len Foote Hike Inn. 4.85 mi hike from Falls Overlook parking. After checking in at the Amicalola Falls State Park Visitors Center, head up the hill past the west ridge parking to the Falls Overlook parking area. Walk past the falls overlook area and take the Appalachian Approach Trail (White Blaze) north and at .35 mile, depart the AT Approach Trail and follow the green trail blazes to the right towards the Len Foote Hike Inn.

Please note that Hike Inn does not have a COVID vaccine requirement for staff or guests at the inn, and there are staff and guests we may come into contact with during our stay that have not been vaccinated. The Hike Inn’s official policy for COVID is one of “business as usual” including indoor family style dining. COVID policy for Georgia ForestWatch requires staff to maintain full vaccinations, including boosters as eligible. As we cannot guarantee anyone’s safety, please make your own decision on whether to attend this outing.

Discount rates for Georgia ForestWatch are $68.50+tax for one person and $95+tax for two.

INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO REGISTER:
Only people with the Georgia ForestWatch code will be able to make reservations on the night of Feb 21st. The code is: GAFW22.

  • Click on RESERVATIONS
  • Click on RATE OPTIONS
  • Promotional/Group Code: type in your group code, click apply (this will change the dates on the left to your groups dates)
  • Click on the 1 room, 1 adult, no children menu and change the count to what you need it to be. If you need more than one room, click the plus sign and change that count to what you need it to be. Room count can be no more than 3, with at least one person being a child aged 12 or under.
  • Then click check availability. If there are rooms available you will see a box that says book it, click it to complete the reservation form. Double check the right hand side for rooms and amount of people in each room. If you need to make changes there is a box with an arrow that will take you back to the first page.
  • Once all the guest info, special info, payment info, the booking and privacy policy are agreed to, click book now.

Distance and Difficulty: 
The hike from the Falls Overlook parking area to the Hike Inn is a “moderate” difficulty 4.85 miles (one way) with 1,238 ft ascent. Outing registrants will hike in on the 21st and out the next day on the 22nd, carrying everything they need for the extent of their stay.

What to Bring and Wear:
Lodging and two meals are included in the price when you register through the Hike Inn website. Bring water, comfortable hiking shoes, rain gear, and snacks for the way in. Bring any personal items you may need for overnight stay.
