Outing Description:
Observe and learn about pollinator activity in southeastern forests in late summer and fall!

Meeting Place Directions:
Byron Herbert Reece Trailhead Parking. If driving north on Hwy 19 from Cleveland/Dahlonega, GA, drive past the Walasi-Yi Inn, and in 0.5 mile, turn left. If driving south on Hwy 19 from Blairsville, GA, drive past Vogel State Park, and in 2.3 miles, turn right. There will be a sign that indicates trailhead parking.

Distance and Difficulty: 
Four-mile out and back with a 1,444 ft elevation gain. The hike is rated as difficult/hard.

What to Bring and Wear:
Wear comfortable closed-toed shoes and preferably long pants (ticks and yellow jackets are prevalent this time of year). Bring plenty of water and your lunch. Bring a camera or phone if you wish to take pictures, which is the best method for identifying pollinators.

Cancellation: If Outing is cancelled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances, we will notify you via email by 6:00 pm on the evening before.
