Outing Description:
Hike the Benton MacKaye Trail from Hudson Gap to Fowler Mtn and back.

Meeting Place Directions:
Cherry Log Christian Church (1149 Cherry Log Street, Cherry Log GA; 1/4 mile north of the Pink Pig restaurant). From Ellijay take US-76 E. Right on Cherry Log St. (Left to stay on Cherry Log St) and church will be on the left after the Pink Pig Restaurant. We will carpool from the church in as few vehicles as possible. To get to the trailhead we will carpool about 20 minutes to Bushy Gap then about 5 miles more on Forest Service Road 793 which is in okay, but not great condition. Please bring masks for carpooling.

Distance and Difficulty: 
7.8 miles, moderate difficulty. Mostly uphill going and downhill returning, about 1000′ elevation gain.

What to Bring and Wear:
The usual: Good shoes, poles, plenty of water, lunch, rain gear, personal meds

Cancellation: If Outing is cancelled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances, we will notify you via email by 6:00 pm on the evening before.

Pet Policy: Pets are allowed but please follow BMTA guidelines and let us know you plan to bring your pet in the message box when registering below.

Participation Limit: 8 spots available through Georgia ForestWatch (register below) and 8 spots for BMTA members who can register through Ken.
