Outing description:
Explore the unique natural beauty and cultural heritage of the Sautee and Nacoochee Valleys.  The experience will begin at the Native Peace Garden which features one of the largest White Oak trees in the area.  We will take a moment to regard this tree and the stewardship that lead to the garden´s creation. The group will move to the trailhead of the Helen to Hardman Trail where we will explore the entwined history of humans and plants on the ¨west end¨ of the valley.  While native plants and their ethnobotanical uses will be featured, the focus of the hike will be learning through the lens of an indigenous perspective on relationships with plants.

2 miles on mostly flat paved maintained trail
