Outing Description: Join us for a New Years Day Hike and Potluck at the home of Helen Meadors. We’ll offer 2-3 different hike options of varying levels of difficulty (Easy to Strenuous) which will be described in advance to all who RSVP. Participants can make their hike choice on the day of outing. After our hike, we’ll all gather at Helen’s home for a potluck lunch followed by updates from ForestWatch leadership on the latest forest news. What better way to start the New Year?!

Meeting Place Directions: Registrants will receive address in a reminder email closer to date. We’ll meet at Helen’s home where we will drop off our potluck dishes and load up carpools to the trail heads, which are 10-15 minutes away. We’ll return to Helen’s after the hikes for the potluck.

Distance and Difficulty: 2-5 miles (Easy to Strenuous) depending on which hike you choose.
What to Bring and Wear: Potluck item to share (more details on potluck will be sent via separate email after registration), snack for the trail if you need one, plenty of water, rain gear, sturdy footwear, and any meds you require.

Cancellation: Hikers will be notified via email if hike is cancelled due to severe weather. Even if hikes are cancelled, we will still have the potluck at Helen’s home. Check your email after 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve for cancellation/confirmation info.
